Which Repair Do You Need?

Hairline cracks (under 1/4"): Crack filling or sealcoating with crack-fill prep.
Cracks 1/4"–1": Hot-applied rubberized crack sealing.
Alligator cracking: Indicates base failure — needs full-depth patching, not just surface repair.
Potholes under 12" wide: Saw-cut patch with hot-mix.
Potholes over 12" or with multiple in close proximity: Full-depth patching or localized resurfacing.
Standing water / birdbaths: Surface grinding or localized overlay to restore drainage.

Why Surface Patching Often Fails (and How We Avoid It)

Most asphalt failures aren't surface problems — they're base problems. A pothole filled without addressing soft subgrade will reappear within a season. Our process:

Saw-cut a clean rectangle around the failure (not just dump-and-roll)
Excavate to sound base — sometimes 8–12 inches down
Re-compact the subgrade
Add new aggregate base if needed
Tack coat the vertical edges
Hot-mix asphalt in lifts, compacted to spec

This is why our patches last 5–10 years where shortcut patches last 1–2.
